The New Attachment Parenting

The economic downturn combined with the recent backlash against child-centric parenting has brought some interesting new trends. While parents are still paying tribute to the principles of attachment parenting, there is evidence that they are becoming more comfortable putting their own interests ahead of those of their children:


To the left, a motorcycle console is used as a carrying device for an infant. The well-insulated, dark, and enclosing space provides a womb-like environment, while also catering to the parent's interest in convenience and fun. The console's proximity to the engine is also a bonus; the loud, steady roar of the engine tends to lull the baby to sleep.

So, what's not to like? A motorcycle is a lot more affordable than a car (not to mention a helicopter), and you can save money on gas mileage as well as expensive car seats. All this without sacrificing the comfort of your baby or your own passion for sport. And it's a great incentive for getting dads involved!
